After the property market crash in 2009, the United Arab Emirates actively sought to regulate their property market and set up a governing body called RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Agency). The regulatory arm of the United Arab Emirates Land Department, where the department sets legislation to regulate the relationship between all contracting parties and to organise the exchange process of properties.
The department provides many services to clients in Dubai extending to its role in planning, organising and evaluating operations related to real estate licenses, and the organisation and development of real estate activities, as well as a commitment to monitor projects financially and technically, in order to protect investors.
The only developers Ephesus works with are approved by RERA and Emaar is mainly government owned. All payments made to developers are through an escrow account and RERA ensures that investor interest is protected,
